 "My first automatic" 2009-12-11
By Juan Carlos Lopez Garcia
This is my first automatic watch, and I'm quite happy so far. Though I was expecting a diferent movement of the second hand, a slower one. It might seem a little heavy and big, but for me it is not a problem. I like the brushed and textured stainless steel bracelet, I choose the 7173 model and the combination of colors is nice. But I certainly have a doubt about the dual 12-hour and 24-hour timekeeping function. Is there any way to set the hands so that they indicate the 24 hour time?. I'm quite curious about this, in fact this function was one of the reasons that made me buy this watch.

 "Great watch." 2009-11-04
By John R. Binkley (Round Rock, Tx United States)
This was just given to me as a birthday present, and I'm really happy with it. I was hesitant to put watches on my wish list. I'm particular about jewelry; I sold it for a few years. I was unfamiliar with this brand, and the price seemed a bit low for a quality product. I must say I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the packaging. It is delivered in a beautiful box, and is packaged like a watch that is much more than the price shown here on Amazon. The first thing I noticed was the substantial weight of the watch, and the very attractive band. I really hope this watch lasts for a few years; it is quite beautiful.

this is a very heavy duty watch. The automatic movement is awesome from the back. I look at the back almost more than the front. I wish the watch had more luminescence, but that is my only gripe. love this watch !!!! This was my first Invicta, and bought 2 more this month.

I really love the watch. the only hing is that. well it is an automatic watch. so the watch goes from sweep second hand movement to a type of ticking movement of an quartz movement type of movement. but still keeps excelent time. since i love the watch. i am just going to exchange forthe same one. u know every now and then. your gonna get one that something is wrong with the product.i have other invicta auto's and no probs with them at all.

 "Quality watch" 2009-08-31
By S. Fisher (Los Gatos, CA)
This is a very substantial watch - heavy yet high quality. It is very large both in diameter and thickness. The back has a crystal so you can view the automatic winding mechanism at work. The style is such that it can be worn for black tie events or everyday work. The only drawback I have found, and the reason I did not give it 5 stars, is that it is nearly impossible to read at night. There is not enough luminescent material on either the hands or watch face.

By PJBrummie (CA, USA)
Great watch, present for my husband's birthday. He really only likes automatics so this was a great buy. We bought a slightly different model for our son's 21st a few yrs ago and he wanted one just like it. Its not for a man with a small wrist... should really have let my hubby do this review ...

The Hubby review.....

I have been wearing this for a week. It is not my first Invicta, it will not be my last, but it could easily be the only watch I need.

This is a heavy watch with a large face and a solid feel.

The face is extremely nice, the dark blue face is wonderful, the hands are clear and the date magnification is great.

I set the time a week ago and it is now about a minute fast, so for a mechanical watch, this is very good.

I love that it is smart enough to wear at work, yet casual enough to wear with jeans and a tee. 'Timeless' is a phrase that springs to mind. Add to that its amazing build quality and you have a winner.

Buy one for your husband !

This is my second Invicta watch. It is a Swiss name, but the movement is Japanese. With that said, I must say that these are good looking watches. This blue is more of a dark navy blue (like the second picture). The dial is large, and the numbers are easily visible. I think that it looks very stylish. It could almost be confused for a Rolex. I would recommend this to anyone that wants a mechanical watch. It looks good and presents itself well when worn.

"My watch came with a coin-type bezel?" 2009-12-20
By Pietro (CT, USA)
I just got my watch and, while it looks similar to the one in the picture, it's not exactly the same.

It does have:

1) the "8928" engraved on the case back

2) the same ASIN number "B000EIA0LW" on the cardboard box as shown on the product page.

But, it also has a coin-edge style bezel; the one in the picture is a scalloped design. I actually like the coin-type bezel more, but I'm unsure as to whether the picture on the product page is outdated and the coin style is being used now, or vice versa.

It also was missing the new plastic coverings that my other Invicta watches [I have a few others], as well as the usual polishing cloth. It had some finger-print like smudges on the crystals as well. It did have the "MSRP" tag, which had what appeared to be a coffee stain on it...so I concluded it might not have been a new watch. It is working and keeps excellent time [I wound it up manually, which you can do with the Miyota automatic movement on this watch...and I have it ticking away right next to my 2304 "bling" diver], so I decided to keep it.

The blue & gold colors on this watch complement each other nicely...I really like the combo...kind of like the Cub Scout colors I had on my uniform when I was a kid ;-).

The instructions might confuse some people, so here are the 3 positions you need to know for the crown once you unscrew it from its locked down position:

1) unscrewed, it can be manually wound, in one direction [clockwise}...20 to 30 half-turns seems to be good to get it through the night.

2) pulled out one small stop, the day can be advanced by turning the crown towards you.

3) pulled out one larger stop, the time is adjusted by turning the crown.

I will upload some pictures of my watch over the next few days so others can see what they *might* be getting...or might not...

 "Not Comfortable" 2009-12-01
By brett joseph (los angeles, ca)
I purchased the Japanese auto, coin bezel version a couple years ago. I really researched this company and read the reviews, etc. I was skeptical but went for it.

The bottom line is I don't wear it. It is heavy which is of course obvious, and owning "Tags" in the past, you do get use to this. But my main gripe is it is a bit PAINFUL to wear. The edges are fairly sharp, and really dig into my wrist. In fact I would say it hurts to wear it. I will sometimes wear it "out", but take it off and hand it to my wife to put in her purse. Maybe they could have spent just a little extra time on the design and rolled the edges, or something.

Now it looks really nice just like the Rolex. In fact from a few feet most people, including me, could not tell the difference. I could see why Rolex had an issue with this watch and the coin bezel.

As far as the time keeping goes. I really don't know about how accurate it is. First off I don't really care about that feature since I kinda tend to use my phone these days for that. Second I don't wear it long enough to know how well it keeps time. Third for $90.00 or so bucks I paid I don't expect precision.

One more thing. I believe the blue gold finish is a bit too soft on the bezel. I had it for a couple of days and got a BIG scratch on it. I swear I did not do anything abusive to it, in fact I was babying it since it was my new baby. ??

Looks good, but feels terrible! And I guess you get what you pay for.

Hope this helps.

Really beautiful eyeful 100 times a day! The rich, deep blue face and true-tone gold, OMG! My dozen watches have dead batteries now, so I am resolved that any new additions to my display box will be self-winding like this one. Magnified date window lets me view the info at least sometimes. Night-long glow is usefully brighter than my other models, mostly Seiko and Casio. I like the continuous second hand sweep. I walk laps and glance at the time alot, and am always glad to see this watch.

"Just OK and Don't be fooled by the prices!" 2009-12-08
By mrmooseesq (St. Louis)
First of all, don't be fooled by the giant discount price on these watches. You can find Invicta watches at Sam's Club and Cost Co for much the same price as on Amazon. It's just that Amazon has a much better selection! The watch itself is quite heavy and feels fairly sturdy. I do like the look on this one which is why I bought it. For me, it's a bit heavy for an everyday type watch. Lately I have found that I haven't been wearing it just because it winds itself by your motions when you wear it and if I don't wear it everyday then I have to set it each time I go to wear it. Thus sometimes I just find myself grabbing one of my citizen eco-drive watches in the morning. Overall a decent watch for the price but once again, don't think you are getting a bargain. You are getting a $100 watch for around $100.

 "Unbelievable value" 2009-12-05
By Ticktocker (Washington State)
I have had this watch now for a few weeks and even though I am a watch collector of sorts, I can't seem to take it off to wear any other watch I own! It is incredibly comfortable, easy to read, with a classical design that is just slightly bigger than the original Invicta Pro Diver which had a 40mm case. The dial is a sunray black that shines beautifully yet allows you to see the hands and read the time. The bracelet is comfortable and well made with solid links instead of the fold over type and that should make it last longer and feel more substantial. The only thing I would change is the width of the bracelet. I think a watch like this, with a 43mm case, should have at least a 22mm bracelet. This one is 20mm. Just a personal preference. You may not even notice it. All in all, even at full retail price (which I have never seen an Invicta priced at full retail) this watch is a steady classic that can go with any and all styles of fashion. Some people like watches that make strangers walk up to you and ask you questions. I don't. I like strangers to leave me and my watch alone and this watch helps staying under the radar and not calling too much attention to yourself yet lets you know that you have a well made, comfortable watch to enjoy. Unbelievable value!

Yes, that's right! You get what you pay for. It is a $60 watch and it looks like one. Don't expect a Rolex or Omega looks, it doesn't even come close to those. The watch is very bulky and the steel strap looks and feels cheap. The photo on the amazon site looks good but those pictures are taken by professionals I guess, who make the watch look good.

By Howling Panda Productions (W. Contra Costa, CA, USA)
I paid about $70, inside the fancy box was a list pricetag reading $350. Very impressive looking watch. Found out over the next

few weeks that the spring would wind down and the watch stop ticking in the middle of the night. The only way to keep this watch going

is to hold it in your hand and make rapid circle movements; to cause the self-winder to swivel round and round (it's visible in the back of the watch, where a small window exposes the movement ("works"). It's kind of like those emergency radios where you crank for 20 minutes to get 2 hours of

reception. Perhaps somebody who jogs daily might wiggle their arm enough to provide sustained power. I feel pretty stupid waggling my hand in circles every night for five minutes (tiring!) just to keep my watch running.

 "Better than the #8926" 2009-11-09
By Dan (Atlanta, GA)
About a week in, and so far I am very impressed with this watch. I bought an Invicta Pro Diver #8926 from Sam's Club for over $100. Initially I liked that watch a lot till one day the band out of nowhere fell apart, and the watch kissed the floor shattering the crystal.

I looked online and found that Amazon had the #8926 for $65 and the #6013 for about $70. I was going to spring for the #8926 again because I really enjoyed it, but decided to try the #6013. Not long after I received the package from USPS, I realized I made the right choice.

Differences between the #6013 and #8926 Pro Diver:

-The #6013 packaging is much smaller than the #8926's.

-The #6013 is a 43mm case diameter watch compared to the #8926's 40mm. While 40mm seems to visually fit my slim wrist better, I do like the feel of the 43mm, and I'm starting to think that 42-43mm are perfectly sized watches for most individuals.

-The date crystal on the #6013 also seems to magnify more than the #8926.

-The crown on the #6013 is not of the screw down variant like the #8926, and therefore is susceptible to water and other debris. However, the watch is rated to 200M, and I have already been in pretty wet conditions. The results so far are good.

-Looks like you cannot manually wind the #6013 with the crown unlike the #8926. Seems like wearing the watch constantly is the only way to keep the mainspring wound.

-The transparent back on the #6013 is smaller than the #8926 (maybe because the increase in case size), but rotor on the #6013 has these intricate designs that eclipses the bland rotor on the #8926. Visually it looks like a higher end product compared to the #8926.

-The huge INVICTA script on the side of the watch case is removed on the #6013 (Which is something I prefer), and several Invicta logos have been removed around the watch, such as the logo off the seconds hand and the crown.

-So far, I have noticed that the watch keeps time better than the #8926. Where my #8926 was gaining 10 seconds per day, this #6013 has been been ticking at the same pace for a week now -- maybe it's because the Japanese movement is different between the #8926 and the #6013, or maybe it's because I am wearing this watch constantly because I love it so much! =)

All in all, for a starter automatic watch, I don't think you can beat this watch. It has the looks, the quality, and most of all, the value. It would be a mistake not to buy one, especially from a spectacular retailer like Amazon.

Amazing watch (so far) for $58. I got this watch as a daily "beater" instead of my Rolex GMT Master II which I was scratching the band thru normal use. This watch feels right (good weight) and looks terrific. Had to remove 4 links to get correct fit (Amazon threw in pin remover for free).

My only concern will be how it holds up over time, will the crystal scratch easily and will it keep time. But for $58 its hard to go wrong for a watch. Time will tell.
